I can relate. I used to have a certain optimism about me, and I walked around confident, sure of myself and who I was. Then, life happened - my husband revealed that he had been unfaithful. I couldn't handle it. In addition to the wave of emotions and pain that came along with it, every fear or insecurity I had ever experienced also rose to the surface.
I questioned my value, my worth, whether or not I was worthy of love. Why I wasn't chosen. In the beginning, I tried to prove my value and worth. That transitioned into me trying to fix everything or be in control of something, because I felt like I wasn't in control of anything. I hit a low. I no longer recognized the woman in the mirror. I felt unseen and like I didn't matter.
I felt like I was just existing. That days and weeks were passing by, and I was no longer fulfilled or really living the life I felt that God created me to live. I wanted my JOY back. I wanted to seize the day and maximize my time, doing what I wanted to do, with the people I wanted to do it with. I wanted to show up fully as me, not as what I had been through.
I knew that I needed to reprogram my brain and shift my mindset.
Your mindset is a battleground on a daily basis. The enemy is continually trying to distract you, and keep you isolated. It's much harder to fight and overcome when you are fighting alone, or no longer have the strength to fight. But when you join together with other women, together, you are stronger!
