You Are Not Your Flaws
So, a lot of times, I come across or I learn something that I have to share. For me, right now in this moment, is the fact that - I have flaws.
We all do. Nobody is perfect, except for Jesus. And, for the longest time, I felt so guilty and bogged down by those flaws. It was like, constantly thrown up in my face. So, the good or the value or the worth that I had, was always overshadowed by my flaws. Or, if I did something wrong, or didn't respond in the best way, or if I reacted instead of responding - it was like, that's what was front and center. If it was something negative, that was what was the bigger thing that all of these positive things didn't matter, or were discounted or thrown out the window.
But, I am here today, to encourage you, that YOUR FLAWS DO NOT DEFINE YOU!
You are always going to have flaws, again, because nobody is perfect. You're always going to be a work in progress. There is always going to be something that God is trying to take out of you here, and fix over here, and trim over there, and you know, put together here. And that's okay. I mean, that is the way it is supposed to be.
That is why you are constantly having to return to your Creator, your Manufacturer, to get reset and be on track; and to just do better and be better everyday. But that doesn't mean that the value that He placed in you, when He formed you in your mother's womb - is taken away. Or that it no longer matters or that it is not there. It's still there!
So, don't let anyone else define you or label you or make you feel less than, or like you're not enough, or not good enough; because you don't stack up to their opinion or expectation of who and what you should be.
It is okay if you made a mistake. It is okay if you don't always respond the right way or in the right tone. Or with the best attitude. It's okay. As you learn better, you do better. Things don't bother you as much as you get older. You no longer have the capacity to put up with the things that you used to put up with. And that's okay. It's called growth. But never let anyone make you feel less than just because you have flaws or because you don't do everything perfectly all of the time.
Nobody can live up to that standard because none of us are Jesus. So just be yourself.
Last thing I want to tell you is if they didn't MAKE you, they can't BREAK you. And if they didn't CREATE you, they can't NEGATE you! That being said, Love God. Love Yourself. Love Others. Always in that Order.
Have a great day!
Your Cheerleader of Purpose,
Tonia D Benas
